Emergency Engine Report Due March 31, 2016

A reminder from the Iowa DNR: 

Are you the owner or operator of an emergency engine used for one of the following programs?*

• Operated for emergency demand response
• Operated for electrical grid voltage or deviation issues
• Operated for local reliability (must meet all 5 criteria)

If so, owners and operators are required to submit an electronic report to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) by March 31, 2016.

Owners of emergency engines > 100 HP operated or contractually obligated to be available more than 15 hours/year for emergency demand response or voltage or frequency deviations, or operated for local reliability (as specified in 63.6640(f), 60.4211(f), and 60.4243(d)) must submit an annual report electronically through the Compliance and Emissions Data Reporting Interface (CEDRI) accessed through EPA’s Central Data Exchange at The first annual report must cover a range of information on 2015 operations as specified in CEDRI. *If your emergency engine does not operate in one of the three programs listed above, you are not required to submit an electronic report.
